This was a college project I did a couple of months ago, where the brief was to come up with a piece of first-person dialogue, about a minute long, then model and animate a CGI character in an interview-type situation.

So, I chose Rincewind, naturally :) He was great fun to animate, although a little hard to model in 3D whilst trying to make him look like the way I generally draw him. My apologies if my various attempts at compressing this and converting the file type have caused and syncing problems with the dialogue and made is sound al compressed, and apologies also for the file size! This was as small as I could get it :)

The vocals were provided by my wonderful colleague Tim Andrews, and were combined extracts from Sourcery and Interesting Times. Created in 3DSMAX.

Haha, this is awesome! I love his expressions, and the way his hat and hair move. The gap between his eyes and his eyelids is a bit odd, but I think I stopped noticing so much after awhile. Nice work!

Thanks! I agree, the lighting I used probably wasn't the best in the 'giving him large cavernous under-eyes' department...but then again, it's more likely due to the fact that I'm not a great modeler :P - 2D all the way!

Damn, nice work. Isn't it a shame when work like this which has clearly taken so much effort is less viewed than a 10 second long animation about naruto or some shit.
Sorry but this kind of injustice grinds my gears.

Well hopefully your work gets the recognition it deserves but yeh. I'll shut up now..

asdjfkjsfh that was SO AWESOME. 8D The expressions were all perfect and the secondary action REALLY worked nicely.
